Sioux Lily Dickson is a self-taught, interdisciplinary artist living in Nogojiwanong. In the late 80s she delighted in acting and improv at Peterborough's Union Theatre. The early 90s found her in the red-glow of the darkroom. She graduated from Fleming College & Trent University. Now she plays with photographed shadows, using digital darkrooms.Sioux's visual art and point-of-view work explore being a part of the world while being apart from the world, in the non-binaries of ability and disability. Her work as an accessibility advocate informs her art and her art informs her work. Sioux chairs Peterborough’s Accessibility Advisory Committee, previously chaired the Built Environment Subcommittee and has served on the Council for Persons with Disabilities board.
