This City of Peterborough award acknowledges outstanding volunteer contributions to civic life in our community. In the past, artists have seldom been nominated. EC3 wanted to increase the profile of the arts in general and raise awareness of some of the outstanding artists and arts supporters in the City, to demonstrate the impact of the arts on our community at a broad level.

• Since 2017, every year EC3 has nominated an individual or group of artists who volunteer for important community causes or arts supporters from the community who have been outstanding volunteers.
• In 2019, EC3 nominated the President and the Artistic Producer of the Peterborough Folk Festival for their outstanding work. These nominees were successful and received the Peterborough Civic Award.
• EC3 contacted the nominees and completed the extensive nomination process.
