Hello Everyone,
Thank you to everyone who came out to There’s a New Law in Town: the Ontario Not-for-profit Corporations Act (ONCA), the two-part webinar for nonprofit corporations and groups considering nonprofit incorporation, which EC3 co-presented with Community Legal Education Ontario (CLEO) and their staff lawyer Benjamin Miller.
EC3 organized this Professional Development Workshop in response to community requests for information on the pros and cons of provincial nonprofit incorporation, and on the impact of the new provincial nonprofit legislation which came into effect in October 2021.
It was an excellent discussion full of useful information for anyone involved in any kind of organization, collective group or association. Part 1: Should You Incorporate? discussed the impact of NFP incorporation, different organizational models that associations can follow, and what is legally required to incorporate as a nonprofit. Part 2: ONCA and You discussed the new legislation that governs nonprofit corporations in Ontario and how it will affect corporate structures and bylaws.
